Leupold offers seven reticle options for Leupold tactical scopes.
Each is designed to help you achieve your goals in your specific shooting application. To learn which reticles are available for a given scope, see the chart below. If you don't see the reticle you prefer listed for a particular scope, the Leupold Custom Shop can install any of our reticles in nearly all of our scopes

Fine Duplex: Thinner posts and crosshairs allow for less target coverage, making precision shots on small targets easy.

Duplex
Leupold invented the Duplex design more than 35 years ago. Heavy posts stand out against cover and in twilight conditions, pointing boldly to the intersection. Centering is a snap. The thin crosshairs obscure little.

Target Dot
This is a conventional shooter’s dot, which seems to “float.” The crosshairs are extremely thin.

Mil. Dot
Several Leupold rifle scopes are available with the Mil Dot reticle, which was designed to help U.S. Marine Corps snipers estimate distance. It’s now standard for all military branches.

Illuminated Circle Dot
The Circle Dot reticle of the Mark 4® CQ/T™ is designed to offer fast target acquisition in any environment.

Range Estimating With The Mil. Dot Reticle
With practice, it’s a simple system to use. Dots are spaced in one mil
(milliradian) increments on the crosshair. Using the mil formula, a table can
be created that is based on the size of the object being targeted. Just look through the scope, bracket the object between dots, and refer to the table
for an estimated distance to target. Leupold scopes fitted with the Mil Dot
reticle include more specific instruction on its use.
